Wirral Waters proud to sponsor Wirral Met’s football team

On Thursday 18 April, Richard Mawdsley, Development Director at Wirral Waters visited the College’s Oval Campus in Bebington to unveil the new kit and meet representatives from the College.

As a neighbourhood-led project by the Peel Group, comprising of educational, retail, leisure and commercial office developments on Wirral’s Dock system, Wirral Met’s Wirral Waters Campus was the first key landmark on the development.

The football team is made up of Wirral Met students from a range of different courses, including BTEC Sport and Exercise Science, NCFE Sport Diploma (sports coaching) Football Development and BTEC Public Services Diploma, and the sponsorship will support the team as they look to build on the momentum of the past few years.

The team are currently 2^nd in the North West AoC league and are through to the quarter finals of the Wirral Cup, of which they are previous winners.

Principal Sue Higginson said: “We are delighted to welcome Wirral Waters as our official football kit sponsor.

“To have the support of a company such as Peel Group is fantastic and a testament to the quality of our sports, fitness and outdoor education courses.

“This sponsorship is a huge boost to the whole squad and we are expecting great things to come!”
